Russ Wilson is a veteran professional musician with over 44 years of experience spanning Jazz, Rock, Country, Gospel, Blues, R&B, Broadway-style pit orchestras, and symphonic music. Of all these traditions, jazz remains his first and enduring love. Throughout his career, Russ has shared the stage with an extraordinary roster of legendary artists spanning blues, jazz, and roots music, including Charles Dungee, Melva Houston, Jimmy Thackery, Kim Wilson, Hubert Sumlin, Charlie Musselwhite, Calvin “Fuzz” Jones, Levon Helm, and many others. A drummer, vocalist, bandleader, and conductor, Russ has appeared on hundreds of recordings since 1989, released 11 albums as a leader, and leads multiple ensembles ranging from small swing groups to large-format orchestras dedicated to early jazz and dance music. His work blends deep historical knowledge with vibrant modern performance, supported by a personal archive of thousands of historic recordings and orchestrations. *Reservations/advance tickets are recommended for preferred seating but are not required.
