EQ Trio

EQ Trio is a modern jazz trio rooted in improvisation and curiosity. Formed by multi-instrumentalist Eli Kahn and bassist Quinn Sternberg — both Midwestern transplants and Indiana University alumni — the group brings together years of collaboration within Asheville’s adventurous music community. Alongside drummer Joe Enright, a driving force behind their original projects including Mind Beach, Sugar Bomb, and After Ours, the trio moves fluidly between composed material and open-ended exploration.

Blending original compositions with influences that stretch from Wayne Shorter to Julian Lage to Aphex Twin, EQ Trio creates music that is melodic and deeply conversational — equally grounded in modern jazz tradition and experimental sound worlds.

Weekdays: No upfront ticket charge is required for reservations; however, a $10 cover per guest will be collected at the door. You are welcome to stay for both sets with a single cover charge. If staying for both sets under a single seating chart, please ensure you reserve in both time slots. You may also choose to purchase admission at the door for more flexible arrival times.
