E’Lon JD is a bass player, songwriter, performer and educator based in Hickory, NC. E'Lon has performed on stages as far east as Almaty, Kazakhstan and as far west as Los Angeles, California and can be found on tour anywhere in between. His sound combines elements of soul, funk, jazz, and rock and could be described best as progressive soul, melodic driven, feel good music. He has shared the stage with Belá Fleck, members of Snarky Puppy, Victor Wooten, and Weedie Braimah and the Hands of Time. He is currently the bass player in the internationally touring band Jonathan Scales Fourchestra.

E’Lon JD Trio brings together three standout voices in modern jazz and groove-driven improvisation.

Led by bassist and composer E’Lon JD, whose “progressive soul” sound fuses jazz, funk, rock, and soul and has taken him from Kazakhstan to Los Angeles stages, the trio delivers deep feel-good energy with serious musical weight. He’s joined by guitarist Eli Kahn, known for his genre-blending work in jazz/fusion and Asheville projects like Sugar Bomb and After Ours, and drummer Joe Enright, a dynamic force in WNC jazz and beyond with roots in jazz, neo-soul, and hip-hop.

Together, they move fluidly from original compositions into inspired interpretations of influences like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Robert Glasper, and Roy Hargrove, a wide-open set of modern sound, groove, and improvisation.
