Multi instrumentalist Melody Cooper began her professional career singing jazz in her native NYC. Playing piano since she was a child, Melody studied in NY with Barry Harris and Nat Jones and added that to her shows and kept going. One highlight was singing in a small group when Dexter Gordon came back to NYC at Lincoln Center. Since then Melody has added harp to the mix.

Over the years Melody has studied and performed as a classical, jazz and Latin vocalist and has held many residencies as a pianist and vocalist in clubs from Key West to North Carolina. She was the pianist/vocalist for the Paradise Big Band, a founding member of Bach to Bossa Nova and the sultry redhead Krissy in The Fabulous Spectrelles. She has also written and produced 3 one woman shows, Torch!, Songs and Stories, and all 5 Spanish Rhapsody shows.

You’ll find Melody singing at the piano. Expect a wide range of jazz, Latin and popular music sprinkled with her favourite originals. And also some truly fun moments on her new electric harp! And you never know who might drop by to join in on a tune!
