Christian Howes Quartet

Christian Howes is an internationally acclaimed jazz violinist, composer, and bandleader based in Asheville. He was voted #1 “Rising Star” violinist in the DownBeat Critics Poll, named among the top three jazz violinists in JazzTimes’ Expanded Critics Poll, and nominated for Violinist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association. A longtime collaborator of Les Paul and former member of Bill Evans’ Soulgrass, Howes has performed a six-night run under his own name at Jazz at Lincoln Center and served as a U.S. State Department cultural ambassador. His album American Spirit was named among the Huffington Post’s Best Jazz Albums of the Year. In 2026, the American String Teachers Association honored him with its Artist Teacher Award.

At Hotel Eve, Howes will lead a quartet built around melodic improvisation, deep groove, and the spontaneous musical interaction that an intimate listening room makes possible. There will be surprises.
