Alex Beltran (Chicago) – Saxophone
Hailed by Chicago Jazz Magazine as “a saxophonist of impeccable musicianship,” Alex Beltran is an active force on the Chicago scene and beyond. His group Merge has released two acclaimed albums of original music, and his debut solo record Rift (Calligram Records, Spring 2024) further establishes his voice as a composer and improviser. Beltran has performed nationally in a wide range of settings, collaborating with artists including Jeff Hamilton, Phil Woods, Tim Ries, Ira Sullivan, Luis Bonilla, John Fedchok, Aretha Franklin, and The Temptations, among others. A Vandoren Performing Artist, he is also a dedicated educator, actively mentoring the next generation of musicians.
