Danny Iannucci Trio (also known as "Chew Toy") is an intimate jazz trio led by bassist Danny Iannucci, featuring Dylan Hannan on tenor saxophone and Joe Enright on drums. Ben Colvin Quartet brings a dynamic mix of groove-based music to the stage ranging from 60s era soul jazz, to Afro Cuban rhythms, to contemporary fusion and funk. Led by longtime Asheville saxophonist Ben Colvin, the group features Joe Enright (drums), Quinn Sternberg (bass), Alex Taub (keys), and a Special Guest. Their sets move from the timeless compositions of Wayne Shorter and Hank Mobley to the more modern sounds of Roy Hargrove and Ben Wendel, along with a selection of originals. Mind Beach is the newest project led by Asheville bassist and composer Quinn Sternberg. The band is quickly gaining a following throughout the Carolinas for both their daring improvised forays and their commitment to song craft. Mind Beach is constantly evolving and adding new repertoire while also performing music from Sternberg’s five studio albums. The sound is fluid and genre-defying, drawing influence from all styles of music to create an intriguing yet universal sound that DownBeat Magazine has described as “complex yet digestible.” Joining Quinn in the band are three of Asheville’s most sought after players, Jacob Rodriguez (sax), (Tim Fischer), and Joe Enright (drums). Together the quartet communicate seamlessly, combining their personalities and musical tendencies into one common sound. With every performance Mind Beach brings a fresh and explorative energy to Sternberg’s compositions, sharing a raw and honest musical experience with their audience.

Jazz Bassoonist Michael Rabinowitz has built his career in the NYC area over the past four decades. He is sought out throughout the world as one of the few who can improvise convincingly on this instrument which is rarely heard outside classical configurations. Michael is a founding member of The Charles Mingus Orchestra which appeared at Birdland last November and has performed and recorded with many jazz luminaries including Joe Lovano, Wynton Marsalis, Ira Sullivan, John Hicks and Chris Potter. Additionally he has seven albums as a leader featuring his own compositions. For this engagement at Hotel Eve he has specially selected a rhythm section of the highest caliber in the Asheville area. The world renown bassist Steve Laspina, a recent transplant from NYC, will be playing bass joined by the combined talents of Evan Martin on drums and Tim Fischer on guitar. The evening music will be a combination of original compositions and jazz standards.

Celebrated bassist and composer Steve LaSpina celebrates his 72nd birthday at Hotel Eve with a special night of music. The evening features his trio with Ryan Ptasnik and Tim Fischer, joined by an Asheville all-star lineup including Jacob Rodriguez (sax), Bill Bares (piano), Justin Ray (trumpet), and additional special guests. Steve LaSpina has been a vital presence on the New York and international jazz scene for more than four decades. A longtime collaborator with legends including Stan Getz, Benny Carter, Phil Woods, Joe Williams, Clark Terry, Chet Baker, Randy Brecker, Pat Martino, and Jim Hall, LaSpina has appeared on more than 275 recordings as leader and sideman. His own releases on SteepleChase Records and Ram Records and his decades of international touring reflect a playing style defined by deep swing, lyricism, and integrity. *Reservations/advance tickets are recommended for preferred seating but are not required. The Bob Songster NC Roots Quartet pays homage to the great lineage of jazz musicians with North Carolina roots - artists whose innovations shaped the sound of American music. This performance features the timeless work of Billy Strayhorn, celebrating his elegant melodies, bittersweet tone and “lush” sense of harmony. Strayhorn's first exposure to the piano and his love of nature can be traced to his summers spent with his grandmother in Hillsboro, NC. Adam Rose draws on a diverse background in jazz, classical, indie-rock and Americana genres. He learned to play jazz at the Philadelphia Clef Club, then worked as a producer and film composer in NYC before moving to Durham NC. There he continued his studies as a graduate assistant in composition and arranging. Since moving to Asheville in 2022 he’s collaborated with the areas finest musicians to create music that is evocative of both urban + Appalachian landscapes. The UNC Asheville XTet, directed by Jacob Rodriguez, is the senior-most student jazz ensemble from the music department at University of North Carolina at Asheville. Featuring primarily student-composed and arranged works, the group’s repertoire moves through swing, modern jazz, funk, bossa nova, and beyond. After making their debut at Hotel Eve in January to an enthusiastic room, the XTet returns by popular request from our clientele. Expect a dynamic set of original music, bold improvisation, and the vibrant energy of Asheville’s next generation of jazz artists. They put on quite a show, don’t miss this one... On drums, Joe Enright, one of Asheville’s most in-demand drummers, lights up the stage with high-energy, deeply transformative performances.

The Pamela Jones Trio is an Asheville-based jazz ensemble presenting timeless selections from the Great American Songbook, featuring the music of legendary composers including George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Hoagy Carmichael, and more. Vocalist and songwriter Pamela Jones, originally from the NYC/Connecticut area, studied Voice and Musical Theater at the Boston Conservatory and Acting at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City. While living in NYC, she performed in numerous music and theater productions, wrote and performed for late-night comedy programs, and released her debut solo album, Brightest Minds. Since relocating to Asheville, Pamela has collaborated with local artists on original projects and performed with a variety of jazz and corporate ensembles. She is joined by Bill Bares on piano and Quinn Sternberg on bass.

The Chicken Alley Hot 5 brings together the cast of some of Asheville’s finest purveyors of old-time hot jazz from the past 25 years. The group conjures their name from the memories of the infamous Space Lounge of Chicken Alley (the whispered about OG speak-easy where many of this group cut their teeth) tucked away in AVL’s bohemian past. Featuring the return of Hank West on trumpet from his now-home of New Orleans where he has been harvesting the roots of hot jazz for his ju-ju bag. The reeds are handled with surgical precision by the newest addition to the Land-of-the Sky, Dr. Gary Rodberg of Firecracker Jazz band. Add to the pair of winds the veteran high-country rhythms of Craig Kelberg on bass (of Dreamboats fame), Andrew Fletcher on piano and Jason Krekel on strings (both of Firecracker Jazz band). The band will have the room moving with selections from the song books of Jellyroll Morton, Bix Beiderbecke and Louis Armstrong to name a few. Not to be missed!

The Brian Felix Organ Trio is the jazz/funk organ group of the future. Rooted in the deep traditions of organ-driven jazz, funk, and soul, the trio blends reggae, samba, surf rock, gospel, and ambient soundscapes into a unified and forward-looking musical vision. Known for its telepathic interplay, deep grooves, and daring spontaneity, the trio has been captivating audiences throughout the southeastern United States. The group’s most recent release, Level Up (Slimtrim Records, 2025), a collection of all-original compositions, has been described as a “stylistic tour-de-force,” and its title track appeared as All About Jazz’s “Jazz Song of the Day.” Based in Asheville, NC (USA), Brian Felix is an internationally recognized jazz keyboardist and organist whose work spans groove-based improvisation, jazz-rock, and contemporary creative music. He was co-leader of OM Trio, an acclaimed San Francisco–based jazz-rock group that toured internationally from 1999–2004. Felix has performed at venues and festivals including the Fillmore Auditorium and Great American Music Hall (San Francisco), the Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge (New York City), and the Aberdeen Jazz Festival (Scotland). His performance history includes collaborations with Joshua Redman, Charlie Hunter, Umphrey’s McGee, Sara Caswell, Billy Hart, Joe Russo, Kelly Sill, and Dave Fiuczynski. The regular working trio features guitarist Tim Fischer and drummer Evan Martin, both integral voices in shaping the group’s sound and musical chemistry.
